Woke up and went and charged inside before packing up and trying to get a hitch to the trail head. We got a ride from a couple from Philly and when they dropped us off they told us about the predicted showers and instead brought us to their property for the night. They had a building that had 3 walls and a roof that they had left standing tobturn into a screen porch once the house was build. We built a huge fire with hollow logs and they left us there and we found an air mattress to sleep on. It was really cold night and I've been wearing all my clothes I have now for over 24 hours.
We hiked over the Bigelows and the Horn. It was really windy and cold. When we got up to the top of the horn I had a panic attack after the wind blew me to the ground. I was so afraid I was going to fall off the mtn and the wind was so piercing I couldn't feel my hands almost instantly. Turbo picked me up and helped me get down off the peak into the trees. I calmed down and I still don't understand why I panicked. Hopefully Katahdins high peak doesn't do that to me. We hiked the rest of the day looking over a huge lake.
Woke up early and hiked all day around the big beautiful lake/pond. The water was clear and cold with white sandy beaches as the banks. It was an easy day, slightly going downhill all day. We stopped 4 miles short of the river we have to wait for a man with a boat to take us across. We camped next to the water and listened to loons all night.
