2 really big frogs
Woke up and it was gross out. We started to pack up and it started to pour. We scrambled to get everything put away and waterproffed. We started walking and it rained harder and harder. After about an hour and half it stopped raining. The rocks were super slippery and I busted my ass. I slid probably 6 feet down a rock on my butt. It began swelling and bleeding. Looks like an egg under my skin with deep red crisscross scratches. At this point I was sobbing and walking. Sucked. We got to a side trail to stop and eat lunch around 5 miles into our day and laid our things our and had someone else make our food. I felt a little better but still miserable we hiked on until the shelter because of the weather forecast. Rain, rain and more rain. We got to the shelter and our group showed up again. Super tired goodnight.
Got up and left after everyone. We went to the pizza place and the guy made us eat outside because 'he couldn't have us stinking up the place'. Never felt so degraded. Hiked 10 more moles that were tough but nothing carepared to what weve already done.
6 orange slugs
Woke up and headed out early. Stopped and got a sandwich from a deli and kept hiking all day. Listening to music helped me pump out the last couple of miles.
Woke up late and headed to Kent CT where we got a soda from the outfitters and talked with the guy making a documentary about the AT that we met at trail days. I got to hoop with a hoop that was laying outside. We then hiked on over a hill and then by a really full river. We then went over another sizable hill and made it to Cornwall Bridge, CT. Got a room some sandwiches, did our laundry, took showers and laid down for the night.
