Enjoyed the room as much as we could. We woke up at 7 and went and got our free breakfast. The Indian people that ran the motel were really pushy about not taking any food or drink from the breakfast area. Plus their waffle machine wasn't working. When we went back to the room I laid in bed for 4 hours while everyone else did random things to get ready for the day. Turbo got a hair cut at a place he was really impressed by. The town was pretty cute, small houses with businesses on the bottom floor. We had to call a shuttle and pay way to much to get out of town. Turbo and I took off and we took tons of breaks but still no one caught up with us. We got to the shelter for the night and it had two shelters, a pavilion, and clothes lines! There was a guy at the shelter (named Lefty and his dog Lucy) that was struck by lightening and he lost his left arm and most of the muscle usage in his left leg. Still hiking strong though! Tomahawk taught us how to play 3s and the guys played for fruit snacks and then eventually they started using change. I wrote in my journal and couldn't seem to stay awake. I fell asleep at 7:30.
Wow! Officially made it half way! I can't believe we haven't got farther but oh well this is awesome! We woke up as everyone was about to leave but we caught up pretty quickly. I felt great today and I kept up with Turbo all day. We got chicken fingers at a cool place. It rained on us for an hour of hiking bleh. Shaffing is the worst. Feet hurt. Night.
Woke up and got to walking down to the half gallon challenge. My chaffing was so bad I was walking like I just got off a horse. Turbos knee was nothing him really bad and he was limping. We got to the store and bought the half gallon of ice cream and I got a pint for myself. I wasn't sure I would be able to eat a half gallon of ice cream on 1 lactaid pill. I did however eat my pint of ice cream in 6 minutes. Turbo did finish the half gallon of ice cream but it took him an hour. Im still surprised he did it. Where does it all go?! After we ate we agreed with NutOn (serious shin splint problems) that we needed to get to town. Our group wanted to keep going so we yellow blazed ahead to Duncannon. It was a 45 minute drive with a new shuttle driver that was a bit over bearing. Once we got the the Doyle we knew we were in for a treat. The building was originally built in 1700s but burned down and was rebuilt to what it is now in 1905. It has had a little fix it stuff done but not much. Rumors were true no air conditioning and flies were large in number in every room. Vickie and Pat, the owners, were fun people. They lived on the second floor and ran the other 3 floors for hikers. The bottom floor was a bar complete with a pool table and the top two floors were only rented out to hikers for 25 a night. We got the 'honey moon suite' it was the perfect old hiker dive hotel. It had the feeling of an old brothel. We played pool and laid around in the room talking.g with NutsOn and I went to bed super early.

Day 96 - 97
For two days we took trips to the gas station buying ice and resting Turbos knee. I hounded the hiker boxes and we didn't have to buy any food for resupply. We played lots of pool and killed tons of flies. Once our group caught up they decided they wanted to stay in town for the fourth. We got fireworks and set them off by the river. Some locals came and took pictures of us and gave us more fireworks.
We woke up super early and headed out of town before everyone with NutsOn. The first climb was killer but after that the elevation didn't change much after that but the rocks were definatley living up to their Rockslyvania reputation. Super exhausted we got to the shelter and we both sat there for awhile before we felt like unpacking or cooking.
Got up at 7:30 and filtered the yellow stream water. Safe to drink but it tasted disgusting. I mixed some of NutsOns gatorade mix and it made it awesome. Im really sore from yesterday. I hate taking two zeros but Turbo reallly needed it. The rocks are reallly obnoxious and my knees are starting to look swollen from fluid under my kneecaps. When i got water for us i watched a bunnie dig up dirt and roll around in it to cool off. 501 shelter in the morning.
Fell twice today (fall count : 5)
1 giant raccoon squirrel opossum thing
Woke up early and headed to the 501 shelter to order real food. The roof had a huge octogon clear part and several bunks inside. None of the food places were open on Mondays but the Mexican place and they wouldn't answer the phone. Mom called and inquired about foods to send us. Im super excited to get it. It definatley distracted me for a couple of miles. Headed into Hamberg tomorrow to destroy some taco bell.
Woke up later than usual and headed out with full water. Water in PA has sucked. We got into town around 12 after coming down a 60 degree angle hill into town. Steepest hill we've come down yet. We got a ride pretty quickly and ate taco bell. You could tell how bad we stunk because people on either side of us finished their food and got up and left quickly. We then went to the biggest Cabelas I've ever seen. They had several huge animal exhibits and an aquarium! They didn't have darn tough socks so we couldn't exchange our socks and they didn't have a hose mouth piece. It was obvious hikers had gone through the store and picked it dry. We then went to walmart to resupply and we both were so exhausted and unmotivated. I had to run to the bathroom twice and the cart seemed to be the only thing keeping both of us standing. We started to head back to the campgrounds since we decided we didn't want to walk anymore. As we were walking across the bridge I heard someone scream and a huge splash. I looked to our right and I saw people jumping off a huge cliff into the water. I grabbed Turbo by the arm and headed towards the end of the bridge and down the path to the water. We got to a beachy area across the water from the rock. We dropped our packs and swam across the water. Turbo jumped off the 40 ft cliff into the water. I enjoyed talking with the people that were there. Lots of people sere there and almost all of them had driven more than an hour to get to this cliff. After relaxing and feeling better, more motivated to be out here Tomahawk called and said they were getting a room. We headed back to town and got a room also. We hung out in the bar downstairs and played pool before heading to bed.
