woke up early and got breakfast which was totally awesome. I had yogurt, a muffin and 7 cups of orange juice. We went back up to the room and prepared to slackpack. We got ready pretty early and wrestled around. Watched some tv then our friends were ready and we paid the guy to drive our packs 14. something ahead. We then walked back to the trail head and practically ran up the hill. We passed Pocahontas spring today. I didn't even know. Lol. The trail got super rocky but it was cool. The trail became super wide 3 miles before the shelter where our packs were. We got our packs and Turbo was feeling tired so we thought we would stay there but after two hours he was ready to go. Im so ready to get to Katahdin. We hiked on until the next shelter. The rocks gots huge and bolder like. Which was super tiring but we moved over the top of them like the ground was lava. We got to the shelter just was it was just starting to get dark. I ate a box of Mac n cheese and some snacks. Super tired. Its going to storm super bad tonight.
Woke up when we wanted to and left the shelter after an hour for doing random things we usually never take time for. Like, brushing our teeth, tying and retying our shoes, and stretching, stuffing my face hole with peanutbutter covered blueberry bagel. We got out on to the trail and the rocks were coming in waves of brutalness. Once we got to the restraunt we both wanted a coke so we waited until they opened. (2 hours and befriending a stray cat) We decided we were both going to get food too long before the place ever opened. We ran into Bob and his friends who we haven't seen in over a month. They were surprised at how the stray they tried to pet the night before was rubbing all over my legs and letting we stratch it. She was tiny and starving. We got delicious wings and I taught them all how to eat wings. They all would have been disqualified in a wing eating contest. We headed out and Turbo and I flew ahead of the guys. The rocks were kinda fun for a little while. I think I got extra energy from the hot wings. The rocks were huge and gagged. They were at a 65 degree angle and you had to walk at the very tip of the rock or you would slide all the way down about 7 feet and onto smaller rocks and bushes. Which I also tried to video and the camera fell. We made it to the first shelter (6 miles later and 30 minutes of tunder) and both needed water because there wasn't any until the one we were stopping at for the day. So I went to go get the water down this steep hill with thorn bushes over growing it. The second spring on the hill was a puddle and it was starting to pour but we really needed water. So I kept going down falling on my ass the process. Once I finally got to the bottom (.4 later) there was two No Trespassing signs and a little broken off peice of a sign laying on the ground up against a tree that said spring. So I started to go in the direction past the no trespassing signs and the trail just dead ended with graffiti all over the trees and rocks. Damn kids, a spray paint can and the most artistic thing you can do is draw a penis? I had to take off my glasses, I couldn't see out of them because of the rain. So, I was partiality blind and hadn't found any water except for what was falling from the sky. I ran back up the hill because I was panicking. I got back up to the second spring and tried to fill up the bottles anyway. The water was surprisingly clear and cold. It was definatley a spring it just looked like a mud puddle. We filtered the water and headed out for the rest of the 6 miles. The rocks came in waves again. But we were moving quickly. We got the shelter at 7:00 and ordered a pizza to be delievered at the trail head .5 from the shelter. Turbo ran down the hill and got the pizza and we had pizza and Dr. Pepper for dinner. It was delicious. I can't wait to get to Palmerton PA tomorrow going to get a package from Mama Poho with goodies and my Pocahontas bikini. Kinda glad Turbo and I are off doing our own thing away from the group for now its definatley going to save us money near towns.
